Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder has apparently sprained his right ankle and will play basketball again at the earliest after the All-Star Break. This reports Adrian Wojnarowski from espn.
The time of injury is strongly reminiscent of his failure in the past season, in which he completed his last match on January 28, 2021. SGA had at that time an injury to the heel.
The then injury is considered a more serious assessment than a compression of the ankle, but it remains to be seen whether Gilgeous-Alexander will be used again this season. The Thunder will not be able to make a thrust in the direction of play-in games in the Western Conference without their best player.
With a balance sheet of 14 wins and 34 defeats you already have 7 games behind the 10th in the West, the Portland Trail Blazers. As in the past season, those responsible in OKC could decide to protect Gilgeous-Alexander if the playoffs come out of reach.
The 23-year-old had not played in 43 during the ongoing season for a long time the litter quotas as in the preseason in which he played long on all-star level. His point cut has fallen only from 23.7 to 22.7 points per game, but only 42.4 instead of 50.8 percent from the field and only 27.8 instead of 41.8 percent of downtown. For this he collects 4.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game, similar to the preseason.
